I forgive and forget, but sometimes not in that order.
Do you trust people?
Mostly.
What are you not looking forward to?
Getting on the scale.
Do you get mad easily?
I don't know. I'm easily irritated, but a slow burn, I guess, about the big things.
Tell us about the last time you were told you that you were pretty.
I'm sure there's been at least one time since, but I got "all dressed up" (for me) for my friend Diana's wedding... what was that? Two years ago. My friend Steve told me I "clean up good," which was sweet.
Do you have strange dreams?
Occasionally. I wish that now, as an adult, I could have one of the several recurring dreams I had as a kid. I wonder what grown-up Irene would have to say about the one with all the snakes, or the one with the burning house, or the one with the alien/leprechaun/skeletor creature...
Ever licked someone's cheek or forehead?
Oh, dear.
Yes.
When did you last play a game?
I played Guitar Hero in the presence of an actual guitarist and KICKED HIS ASS a couple of weekends ago. Yay!
What do you have on you at all times?
I'd say "cell phone" but I forgot it today, so that sort of sucks. My watch. My wedding ring. Some sort of lip stuff.
Do you go out in public without getting all dressed up?
Of course.
Do you like fruity or minty gum?
Both, and usually two or three pieces at once.
Favourite musician or group?
Of course Stewart Copeland, but the less obvious answers are as follows (in no particular order):
- George Harrison
- Radiohead
- Talking Heads
- The Veils
- Heart
I always like someone. To be not liking someone would be to stop breathing and to lay down and die.
Favourite computer game?
Scrabble, Solitaire; I used to like this game called "Intelligent Qube." It was fun, and possibly very lame.
First album you ever went and bought with your own money?
Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." But I also owned a copy of Disco Duck, and I still haven't been able to coax a confession out of the parental units for that one.
Think back five months ago, were you single?
Dude. I haven't been single for twelve years. Twelve years!!
Do you believe in celebrating anniversaries?
Yeah, but take it easy.
Do you think someone is thinking about you right now?
Sure, there are a couple phone calls I needed to return today, and didn't. Those people are probably pissed.
Last thing you bought?
A San Diego zoo t-shirt, a couple of gifts, a Diet Coke, and a bag of chips.
Are you a jealous person?
I try not to be jealous, but sometimes it is what it is.
Does it take a lot to make you cry?
God, no. I was driving home from work today and "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N Roses came on, and I have never listened to those lyrics very carefully before. Have you? Well. I cried.
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe placeDo you have a friend of the opposite sex you can talk to?
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain
To quietly pass me by
Yes, and I am so thankful for them!
Have you ever had your heart-broken?
Of course. Of course!
Have you ever done something while drunk that you still cannot believe you did?
No.
Do you text?
Yes!
Do you wish someone would call or text you right now?
No, I'm watching Glee. Sssshh.
Is your life anything like it was a year ago?
Yes.
Go back one year on your blog. Leave us a link to your favorite post.
This is a fun one. "Words," by Irene Palma, originally posted Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Not just any random Tuesday, either.
You can only drink ONE liquid for the rest of your life, what is it?
You mean, one liquid in addition to water, right? Hey, Diet Coke, of course. But I would totally miss lemonade, and apple juice, and sparkling cider, and beers, and hard cider, and milkshakes, and....
What is the last thing you said out loud?
"Are we out of apple juice?"
Will this year be better than last?
Oh, man, I hope so.
